Freedom for €9.99 - or: How the Universe Held Up a Mirror to Me

It was one of those seemingly ordinary moments when life suddenly, with a quiet, almost mischievous smile, opens the door to a deeper truth.
I was just about to save a voice note when a message popped up on my screen:
“Your iCloud storage is full. For €9.99 you can upgrade it.”
Nothing special, one might think.
But my system reacted immediately.
A wave of tension ran through my body - alarm in the nervous system. My head tightened, my thoughts sped up. I watched myself as I began cleaning up storage: deleting old files, organizing, making space.
Not because it was rationally sensible. But because an old inner code was triggered:
“I’m not gonna be ok.”
Not sometime. Now. Always.
I heard again that familiar voice from my childhood:
“Clobber stick to your last.” (German: „Schuster, bleib bei deinen Leisten.“)
Heard so often. Deeply internalized.
Stay small. Clean up what you have. Don’t try to expand.
Because if you expand, you’ll be seen. Become vulnerable. Maybe even not survive.
And do you know what the cosmic joke is?
I could have simply clicked “Upgrade for €9.99.”
Freedom for €9.99!
(Not because freedom can be bought - of course not. But because life held up a mirror to me in such a charming way.)

Resonance in the Depth

(Do you really think Apple planned that? Probably not. But the Universe did.)
That evening, a fierce migraine-like night followed. My body revealed the old tension - the iron mask from decades of “shrinking instead of expanding.”
And the next morning, in my inquiry, deep understanding took place. And: laughter.
A warm, spacious, genuine laughter - like an inner exhale.
I had seen through the code.

The Package Right In Front of Me

A few days later: I had just returned from a deeply relaxing Ayurveda session when it happened again:
I’d ordered vitamins; Hermes claimed they were delivered - but no package anywhere.
Immediate activation. Alarm. Restlessness. The impulse to check, email, ask neighbors.
Three days later - I opened a box I was convinced contained my ordered glass bottle - and guess what I found? The vitamins. They’d been right in front of me the whole time. I just couldn’t see them - because my system was still in old alarm mode.
And I had to laugh. So deeply and with such relief.
How powerfully we can be hijacked by our old inner constraints - unconscious survival codes - that our nervous system acts on.
And how lovingly life gifts us these moments so we can wake up.

What is a Constraint?

A constraint is more than a thought.
It’s an unconscious inner code, an identity layer through which we experience the world.
Like a filter shaping our reality.
And every time we react emotionally or automatically, it’s not a mistake - it’s a sign. An offering. An invitation to freedom.
“Life will present you with people and circumstances to show you where you are not free.”
 - Peter Crone
Most people assume they feel bad because others behaved wrongly.
But in truth, others simply reflect the places where we are not yet free.
“Other people’s words can only hurt you if you already believe them.”
“You are not a victim of circumstances. You are a victim of your own perspective.”

Prompts for Further Exploration:

  • Which everyday situations repeatedly cause you stress or tension?

  • Could it be that an old inner constraint is at work here?

  • What if you didn’t have to “clean up” anything anymore - but could simply expand?

  • And if the Universe talks to you even through iCloud—what are you waiting for?

I share this because I believe that it’s often in the seemingly small moments that great doors open - and because I know how powerful it can be to see yourself in someone else’s experience. When life touches us through the everyday, it’s no coincidence; it’s a wake-up call, a quiet invitation to look deeper - toward where we can become free again.Perhaps you recognize yourself in this. Maybe your “inner storage” no longer has enough space for what wants to emerge through you. Then click internally on “Upgrade.”And see what unfolds.
